Dear Nole friends:
Unfortunately, due to weak response from the families of outgoing
FSU freshmen from the Charlotte area, we had to cancel our annual
Tally Rally event at 131 Main on Saturday to wish them well on their
upcoming year. We will work on care packages for them instead.
I have an upcoming meeting with Brazwell's to discuss our return
there for the game watchings for football, due to positive response
from last year's inaugural hosting. It is very important to us to
have continuity from year to year, and we believe they offer us the
best chance to satisfy our fans' appetite and excitement for the
upcoming season. We appreciated their accommodating of the
video/audio, the outdoor patio, plentiful parking, excellent food,
and a south Charlotte location, and we'll look to having a board
member host each week's game watching party to punctuate our
attendance. In the event that FSU plays in the ACC Championship we
will likely move the bar headquarters to Blackfinn downtown to be
near the festivities.
Our annual bus trip will be the NC State game on Thursday, Oct. 28;
if you have never gone with us on the road you are missing quite a
treat. Our ACC Open golf tournament will be the next day.
We are still working on a kickoff party with a hopeful Everette
Brown in attendance and will report to you as soon as we're ready.
And we haven't forgotten about the bar crawl. :)
If you are still procrastinating your interest in an FSU North
Carolina license tag, the Triangle club's www.ncfsutag.com website
indicates they are just ten shy of the minimum 300 applications to
make this happen. Ten! Why can't Charlotte alone close this gap?
Please consider your commitment to making this happen.
I've taken the liberty to attach an invitation/registration for our
friends at the Love Alliance, a charitable organization we met
during our trash cleanup a few months ago. Please consider joining
their cause for a volleyball tournament on Saturday if you'd like to
enjoy some time in the sun. Just Google them or check out their
Facebook group.
As always, thank you for your support of us as we continue to
establish our presence in Charlotte as an alumni club to be admired.
And I hope you're having a fantastic summer. Please, do not hesitate
to ask us what we can do for you, or what you can do for us. Our
board is always open.

ACC Open golf tournament postponed
Attention
Charlotte Seminole Club members and friends: Due to underwhelming
participation for our upcoming ACC Open golf tournament, we have
elected to regroup and reschedule the event for Friday, October
29th, the day after the Thursday night N.C. State game in Raleigh as
a nice way to celebrate the team's performance after the ESPN game.
Hopefully you will be joining us on our annual bus trip as well. We
will be refunding any monies paid and hope to see you for this event
in the fall.
Additionally, we
have received positive support in a suggestion to do a bar crawl for
you socialites that want to celebrate an upcoming weekend downtown.
We are looking into it and will report. If you have some
suggestions, have some contacts, or want to help out, please contact
me directly. Have a great weekend!
